Without a doubt, Indian Premier League is the most-watched and most-awaited T20 cricket league in the world that includes Cricket superstars from all the cricket playing nations where they lock horns for an intensely contested tournament. With all the cricket stars featuring in the tournament, it is the most entertaining sporting extravaganza for the fans spanning across an action packed two months.

So far, Mumbai Indians have been the most successful franchise in the league with 5 winning titles against their name and next to them Chennai Super Kings have proven to be the second-most successful team with 3 titles and next is Kolkata Knight Riders with two title wins so far.

Deccan Chargers (not active anymore), Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Rajasthan Royals have been crowned winners once. But teams like Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings, and Delhi Capitals couldn’t make the most of their chances and have not been able to win a title so far.

Will the BCCI Postpone IPL 2021?

As per the latest reports, the BCCI has decided to put a hold for an indefinite period on this year’s IPL citing the steep rise in Coronavirus cases in majority of the urban areas. The sudden decision has left all the fans across the globe shell-shocked, just like last year the timing of the rise in the infected cases has collided with the IPL schedule which has left all the franchises and organizers in disarray.

Mumbai, one of the venues where the matches were supposed to be organized has seen quite a spike in Coronavirus cases in recent days. Similar has been the case with the national capital Delhi and adjoining areas of Punjab and Haryana.

So putting everyone’s health at priority, the authorities are not at all keen to stage the tournament this year. Though, the fans are hopeful that the tournament may get organised in some other venue like last year’s tournament in the UAE.
