Delhi Police issued a lookout notice against 2 time Olympic medalist Sushil Kumar on Monday, who has been absconding for the past few days after being allegedly involved in the murder of a 23 years old wrestler at Delhi’s Chhatrasal Stadium. Sagar Dhankad, the victim was beaten to death when a brawl broke out in the stadium’s parking area. The FIR registered against Sushil mentions abduction, criminal conspiracy and murder.
As per the rumours, the wrestler went to Haridwar and afterwards Rishikesh after the infamous incident. Other victims recorded in their statements that the wrestler Sushil Kumar and his friends abducted the deceased Sagar from his home as he said something against Sushil in front of other wrestlers.
According to the case filed by the Delhi Police, the alleged brawl involved Sushil Kumar, Ajay, Prince, Sonu, Sagar, Amit and others in the parking area of Chhatrasal Stadium and hence the Police registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code [IPC] and Arms Act at Model Town Police Station. At the crime scene, the Police found a double barrel gun loaded with 5 cartridges along with 2 sticks.
All the vehicles and weapons at the crime scene were seized by the investigating police and the crime spot is further being investigated by the forensic experts. Once the information regarding the injuries to Sagar and Sonu got revealed by the doctors’ team, the case was registered under IPC sections 302, 365, 120B.
